The American Psychological Association shared new research showing that watching short inspirational videos can lower stress and increase feelings of hope. In the study, more than a thousand adults watched uplifting videos for about five minutes each day for four weeks. Many of them reported feeling less stressed and more hopeful afterward. This simple activity was almost as effective as guided meditation.

The study also found that watching funny clips or scrolling on social media did not have the same lasting benefits. For people who find it hard to make time for mindfulness or relaxation, spending a few minutes each day watching inspiring videos could be an easy and helpful way to improve emotional well-being.
